This site has pre-built resume templates for every type of resume. 

Canva is FREE. You can pay for more advanced templates/features $120/year (30-day free trial)

There is a small learning curve (very small) but after that it becomes super easy to use.

American Job center

Because of the “Workforce Investment Act” every state must offer resources for job placement or advancement.

These centers are called “American Job Centers” they can help you with:

  • Training Referrals
  • Career Counseling
  • Job Listings
  • Employment relates services

These centers can help you build your resume and may even guide you towards your next job.

Google docs

While google docs is not a dedicated resume builder. They offer free templates for resumes becoming a quick and fast resource. 

  1. Open Google Docs.
  2. Click on the “Templates” button on the top right corner of the screen.
  3. In the search bar, type “Resume Templates” or “CV Templates”.
  4. Browse through the selection of templates and click on the one you like.
  5. Make a copy of the template by clicking on “File” and then “Make a copy”.
  6. You can now edit and customize the template to fit your needs.

Fiverr.com

Fiver is platform where people sell their digital skills. 

You can pay $10-$200 for someone to build a resume for you. 

***Make sure to research the professional that is building your resume. What is their style? Does it fit what your looking for? Make sure to read the reviews. Remember that these are just people who are trying to sell their service.

Indeed has released multiple articles about how to build your resume and what you should or should not have on it.

You can build a resume with Indeed and it is FREE

Personally, I feel that their designs are not very customizable and look a little outdated. I recommend reading their articles about what to put on a resume and then using another platform for the actual build. 

Spend some time looking at these articles.

This is the American Job Center Hotline. Tell them that you are having trouble building your resume and you need help. They will help guide you to a community center that can help you build your resume now.

Print on resume paper

Resume paper is high quality paper that has been specifically designed for printing resumes. It feels different in the hand than regular paper. 

This is an easy way to instantly elevate your resume. It runs $10-$15 a box. 

Many applicants use “regular paper” if you have a different feeling paper then your resume WILL stand out in their endless stack of resumes.
